A love letter to Black and Brown LGBTQ+ Communities by Adrianna Boulin
June 2026
What a miracle it is to be here. To be alive on this floating piece of earth, surrounded by water and sky, breathing air, touching nature, sharing stories, sharing laughter, sharing grief, sharing joy. To feel. To love. To witness and be witnessed.
This experience we are having is divine. And so are we. We are divine. We are magic. We are living proof that possibility exists. Yet despite our divinity, we are often burdened by forces designed to make us forget our power. Forces that divide us from ourselves, from each other, from the truth of who we are. So this is a love letter to Black and Brown LGBTQ+ communities. Beloveds, we sit at many intersections. We sit at tables where we are not always welcomed. We walk through spaces where we are told we do not belong. Sometimes we are even made to feel
unwelcome in spaces we helped build ourselves. And still, we remain.
We create. We imagine. We transform. We are ancestral. We are ancestrally intelligent. Long before artificial intelligence, there was ancestral intelligence, wisdom carried through bloodlines, through memory, through movement, through song, through survival. We know things because our people knew things. We survived because our people survived. We carry medicine we did not invent but inherited. And maybe the work before us is not to become something new. Maybe, it is to remember. To indigenize. To reconnect. To reclaim. To remember the magic found in love. The magic found in community. The magic found in knowing that our capacity together has always been greater than our capacity alone. We know what it feels like to have one part of ourselves embraced while another part is rejected.
To be celebrated in one room and questioned in the next. To understand intimately how proximity to power can shape opportunity, safety, and belonging. We know these truths. But we must also know this one: You are powerful. You are valuable. You are worthy. You are magic.
The way you dress is yours. The way you walk is yours. The way you talk is yours. The way you create, the way you love, the way you move through this world is uniquely and beautifully yours. There has never been another you. And there never will be. So, hold strong, Black and Brown LGBTQ+ communities. Hold on to each other. Hold on to your joy. Hold on to your softness. Hold on to your brilliance. Hold on to your vision. When the world asks you to shrink, expand. When the world asks you to forget, remember. When the world tells you to stay grounded in fear, reach higher. Because we were never meant to remain beneath the weight of oppression. We were meant to rise. We are reaching beyond what was handed to us. Reaching beyond limitation. Reaching beyond survival. Thriving. Living in abundance. Reaching toward the solar system. Flying over the noise. Flying over the doubt.
Flying over the hate. Flying over the fear. Flying over the bullshit. And together, beloveds, we rise. Not despite who we are, but because of who we are. Magic.
Divine. Powerful. Free.
I love you
