Thank you for attending the Portraits of Pride Soirée!

Boston’s Pride Month opening event on Sunday June 1st, 2025

Thank You for Celebrating with Us

On the first night of Pride Month 2025, Boston’s cultural, civic, and community leaders gathered for at the Portraits of Pride Soirée, hosted by the Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History & Culture to celebrate the annual Portraits of Pride Exhibition. Set against the powerful backdrop of our acclaimed exhibition, the soirée was more than an event—it was a declaration. A declaration, that our history will not be erased and that our community will stand strong in the face of attacks and discrimination. Together, we honored extraordinary individuals whose courage and leadership have shaped the arc of LGBTQ+ life in Boston and beyond.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Connector at Winthrop Center for their generous hospitality, outstanding service, and unwavering support.

Congratulations to our event awardees: Orlando Watkins, Porsha Olayiwola and David Hodgkins!

From moving tributes and oral histories of resilience to a soul-stirring performance by Coro Allegro, the evening was filled with unforgettable moments. Guests enjoyed a first look at this year’s portraits, raised their glasses in a champagne toast, and danced in celebration of queer joy. Most importantly, the event raised critical funds to advance the Museum’s mission: to amplify queer artistry and ensure our stories are preserved, celebrated, and shared—now and for generations to come.
