Envision Our Permanent Home
Building a Permanent Home for the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Museum
As we continue to expand, securing a permanent home for the museum is one of our most critical priorities. Through our feasibility study, we aim to identify real estate opportunities that align with our vision for long-term sustainability and impact. This study will not only assess potential locations but also help us identify a development partner who shares our values—one that prioritizes creativity, community, and cultural stewardship.
Our goal is to integrate the museum within a larger ecosystem that fosters engagement, blending cultural, residential, and corporate spaces. By embedding the museum within a dynamic environment, we ensure that it remains financially viable while serving as a hub for LGBTQ+ history, art, and advocacy.

Our Vision for the Space
Based on our envisioned scope of work, preliminary assessments, and programmatic needs, we hope to secure a 30,000-square-foot space with the following allocations:
Gallery Spaces – 13,000 sq. ft.
Main Gallery (6,000 sq. ft.) – Permanent exhibition chronicling LGBTQ+ history in Massachusetts, New England, and the nation.
Portraits of Pride Gallery (2,500 sq. ft.) – A dedicated space showcasing works of portraiture, celebrating LGBTQ+ activists, artists, and leaders.
Rotating Exhibition Gallery (4,500 sq. ft.) – A dynamic space for seasonal and traveling exhibitions, providing fresh artistic and historical perspectives.
Event & Community Engagement – 8,000 sq. ft.
A dedicated event space for public programs, artist talks, film screenings, and community gatherings.
Adaptable for seated dinners, receptions, and panel discussions, ensuring versatility for various programming needs.
Education, Research & Institutional Support – 9,000 sq. ft.
Conference Rooms & Classrooms (1,500 sq. ft.) – Spaces for lectures, workshops, and youth programming.
Archival Storage & Research Facilities – Preserving historical documents, artworks, and artifacts for future generations.
Administrative Offices & Museum Operations – Supporting the long-term growth and sustainability of the institution.
Through this comprehensive approach, we are not just securing a building—we are creating a sustainable cultural institution that will serve as a cornerstone for LGBTQ+ representation in the arts, humanities, and public discourse for generations to come.
