Our Past, Present & Future.

As we begin the year 2025, here is collective reflection our journey

It is remarkable to reflect on the fact that only 2 years have passed since our founder, Jean Dolin, first envisioned a museum in Boston dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ history and culture. Initiatives of this magnitude often take decades to materialize, with ideas being postponed or abandoned, left for future generations to revive. But for us, waiting was not an option.

For far too long, LGBTQ+ history has been relegated to the shadows—confined to dusty archives, queer art omitted from mainstream museum walls, leaving queer centered art underfunded and causing queer culture to be reduced to a narrowed avenue of nightlife. But queer culture is both day and night; we rise with the sun and dance with the moon. It is time to claim our rightful place in the cultural landscape.

Founding Board Members: Arline Isaacson, James Monroe, Lynda Jeremie, Amanda LaFleur and Jean-Philip Brignol.
